Dr. Sheila Embry: A Life Interrupted

Dr. Sheila Embry found the National Clean Up Day page while waiting in an airport for a flight to her next business trip. She told me that as soon as she saw the post, she decided I was talking to her. She has a novel she started at NaNoWriMo in November of 2009. While she won a competition during the month, she did not finish the novel. It is called “A Life — Interrupted” and is a somewhat fictionalized memoir about her parents.

Sheila has several publications under her writer’s belt. You can read all about them on her Amazon Author’s page. She decided to use the National Clean Up Day as a springboard to finishing her novel so she can give it to her family for Christmas. I am going to be helping her with editing, transitioning and other tasks. I will keep everyone up dated on this page as we go forward with this project. I have read the book so far, and it promises to be a good one. Here is the first paragraph:

Sara Jean Hutchison, nee Sara Jean Harvey, was born on a Ferris wheel on May 31, 1959. She felt as if her life had been going around in circles ever since. Okay, not technically born on a Ferris wheel but close enough to tell the story that way to new acquaintances.

In the meantime, you can read her blog here:
