Writing Services Rate Sheet

The Center for Writing Excellence will edit your books, novels, and short stories. We will check for grammar, spelling and punctuation errors as well as review for content. The technical review will look for consistency in voice, tense, and syntax. The content review will examine relationships between characters, looking for consistency in behavior, etc. It will also cover things like errors in time frame, reliability of ‘facts’ and ‘believability’ of actions, dialogue, etc.

Novels/Books:
$1.00 per page for first 250 pages
.50 per page for pages 251 – 500
.25 per page for pages 501 and higher

This includes two read/edit passes at the book.

10% discount for either being a participant in either of the contests or writing for the newsletter.

15% discount for participating in the contest(s) AND writing for the newsletter.

Short Stories/Articles:
1-5 pages: $20
6-10 pages: $40
11-15 pages: $60
16+ pages: $100

A page is defined as one sheet of 8.5 x 11 paper, typed, double-spaced, in Times New Roman or Arial font, size 12.  A page can also be determined by dividing the total word count (again in Times New Roman or Arial 12 point font) by 350 words.

Ghost Writing

$10/page, first 250 pages
$8/page over 250 pages

Payment

Projects will be billed as follows:

1/2 down at the beginning of the project; 1/2 paid at the end of the project

OR

1/3 down at the beginning; 1/3 half-way through the project; 1/3 at the end of the project
